The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex, is known for the life-size replica of Dias's Caravel (ship) and the famous old Post Office Tree, which is more than 500 years old. The complex consists of four buildings which includes 7 National monuments
The theme of the Bredasdorp Museum is “Shipwrecks along the dangerous Southern Cape coast and their influence on the development of the Strandveld”. The museum consists of three sections namely the Old Parsonage, the Independent Church and the Old Coach House.

Early Cape painters were' reporters' who described the topography, flora and fauna of this fascinating land, a conservative approach that is still favoured by the gallery's clients.
