Afruka Eco Tours offer unique guided tours into the Western Cape natural environment. Our tour groups are limited to 4-6 people so that we can offer a personalised experience to each and every client. Tell us what you desire for your tour and we will discuss all the options available. We will then put together a unique package to suit your individual requirements. Check our website www.afrukaecotours.co.za where you can view a number of “recommended” tours that we offer. From these you can create your own package. Our day packages include collection from your place of accommodation, transport in an A/C 4 x 4 vehicle, a guided walk with a Field Guide, refreshments during the walk, entry fees into parks, and safe delivery back to your accommodation. Our overnight packages include all of the above and also include all accommodation/camping equipment and full catering. Our guides are qualified and certified with DEAT, are qualified first aiders, hold professional Driving permits, and have undergone 4 x 4 vehicle training. They are well informed about all aspects of South African nature and culture and they will guide you safely through the walks, hikes and tours. Our vehicles are air conditioned 4 x 4 vehicles suitable for driving in all conditions found in South Africa’s natural areas. !Khwa ttu San Nature Reserve- a San guided bush experience.
This tour is to the !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre based on a Nature Reserve approximately one hour from Cape Town. It is a living celebration of past and present San Culture; an uplifting and inspirational experience. We offer either a full day tour or an overnight tour, where on the second day we visit the nearby West Coast National Park.
!Khwa ttu offers a unique experience to the discerning visitor. The park contains many species of antelope including the beautiful Gemsbok, the large Eland and the energetic Springbok, it also has an abundance of other mammals, birdlife and fynbos plants. However the highlight of the tour is a guided bush experience with the experienced San guides based on the reserve. They offer you a fascinating insight to the San history, culture and languages. The reserve has an excellent restaurant, a photo exhibition hall and an arts and crafts shop. All the items in the shop are manufactured by San communities. Accommodation covers a range of wonderful options; guest house, bush camp or bush cottage.
!Khwa ttu is the only San owned and operated culture centre in the Western Cape. It was set up as a joint venture between the Working Group of Indigenous Minorities in Southern Africa (WIMSA) and UBUNTU, a Swiss philanthropic foundation. Afruka Eco Tours recommends this experience as a true Eco Tourism destination. Visitors can leave !Khwa ttu knowing that they have supported a San-owned, truly African development project.
