"Let the sound of the waves lapping against the shoreline be your first waking sound" Nestled at the foot of the picturesque Chapmans Peak Drive overlooking the beach, lies the "Grande Old Lady" of Hout Bay, the Chapmans Peak Hotel, family run since 1977. Situated 20km for Cape Town, along the Atlantic Seaboard, this charming and gracious hotel awaits you.
Six of our ten light & airy, well-appointed guest rooms boast magnificent sea-facing vistas across the Hout Bay Harbour to the Sentinel Mountain on the one side and Noordhoek on the other.
In refurbishing the rooms we retained the unique charm of a bygone era but added modern touches to add comfort and style for your stay. The interior decor lends itself to a warm, calming & relaxed ambience.
Room configurations vary from queen size to twin-bedded rooms.
For those who prefer the traditional bath to showers, bathrooms also vary in their own individualistic style. Stylish wall mosaics adorn the wall above the bath and stone-designed floors in the showers give a natural earthy feeling.
Tea & coffee making facilities are also available in each room.
Calm and warmth also welcomes you in our world-renowned seafood restaurant which was established over 25 years ago, today still serving many dishes from the original menu. It is the ideal location for those lingering sunsets and balmy evenings, boasting spectacular views over the beach, the harbour and the landmark mountain of Hout Bay - The Sentinel.
Recent additions to the hotel include a cosy Cigar Bar and Lounge as well a magnificently restored state-of-the-art first floor Conference Room.

About Hout Bay
Hout Bay is one of the most beautiful and popular places on the Cape Peninsula and a highlight of any visit to Cape Town. The access road that runs from Camps Bay, offers a beautiful drive all along the sea. The town lies picturesquely in a wind-protected bay, surrounded in the west by the Karbonkel Mountain, the famous Mount Sentinel as the outpost in the sea and in the east, by the Constantia Mountains and Chapmans Peak.
Hout Bay is the centre of the crayfish and snoek fishing industry, and its fishing harbour gives the little coastal town a lively atmosphere. But today, its main economic contributor is tourism. After all, the attractions of this beautiful situated place are numerous. Other than hiking, sailing, surfing, kayaking, fishing, cycling, having a picnic or sun tunning at the beach, there is not much one can't do in Hout Bay. And the scenic Chapmans Peak drive, the harbour, the bird park and Seal Island are all part of it. HB*
