Each of the underlined courses is a 4-week emotional and spiritual development programme. These courses come out of The Cloud Townsend Foundation in America and are designed to address the Spiritual Psychological and the Emotional underdevelopment suffered by most addicts. No other treatment facility addresses addiction in such an appropriate way. As a Christian programme we do not discount Psychology. We believe in addressing the Psychological issues as a means of addressing the problem, whilst offering understandable Theology as a route to the solution.
Bethesda offers:
Luxurious rooms accommodating no more than three per room. Each room is serviced each day and we also offer a laundry service.
Bethesda sits at the foot of Storms River Peak, offering just the right ambiance for rest and relaxation. The Tsitsikamma Forest surrounds Bethesda wherein one can take wonderful walks, including waterfalls and mountain bike rides.
Natures Valley is a regular away-day location of ours where one can splash around the lagoon or simply walk for miles along a glorious Oceanic beach.
Colin Garnett, Programme Director has come out of 18-years of heroin addiction, including 6 attempts at treatment and over 5-years in prison. Colin is now married to Deanna a Law Graduate, Bethesda's Director of Admin & Finance. In over 14-years clean time, Colin has been re-educated to Bachelor of Theology and has built up a team of Professionals and ex-addicts who make Bethesda one of the sharpest teams in South Africa today. Colin has trained and worked in South Africa's and Europe's most lucrative Addiction Treatment clinics as a counselor, and had to resign because: "Whilst the professional approach really helped him, it missed the mark for him when he needed personal understanding." Bethesda is Professionally Personal.
Group sessions can take place in our indoor group room, or out among the noises of the Tsitsikamma. Group sessions revolve around Step Work and one-to-one counselling takes place on request.
