The larger-than-life bronze sculptures of the four Laureates were created by Claudette Schreuders whose internationally acclaimed work reflects the ambiguities of the search for an ‘African’ identity in the post-apartheid 21st century. The larger-than-life bronze sculptures of the four Laureates were created by Claudette Schreuders whose internationally acclaimed work reflects the ambiguities of the search for an ‘African’ identity in the post-apartheid 21st century. Noria Mabasa from Vuwani in Limpopo Province created the fifth sculpture of Peace and Democracy. This narrative work acknowledges the contribution of women and children to the attainment of peace in South Africa. Join us in honour of these great men, at this place of reflection.
