Hoopoe Haven is a small and peaceful country guest house in beautiful Chartwell . close to Fourways, Dainfern golf course, 3 shopping malls, Lanseria and live theatre at Broadacres and Montecasino. We only offer self-catering not bed and breakfast
The lodge
The lodge is a beautiful, new architect-designed, thatch house with luxurious finishings (sandstone tiles, cherrywood cupboards throughout, granite counter tops, quality furniture). It is designed for comfortable living.
Guests are encouraged to view this house as their home-from-home, and are given full use of the lodge to share with fellow quests.
This includes
- A comfortable lounge with DSTV.
- Upstairs bar and braai (gas) entertainment area with a lovely view of the surrounding countryside and the magnificent sunsets.
- Spacious family room upstairs to socialize with family, guests or for some peace and quiet.
- A large fully-equipped kitchen is available for your use. At this point unfortunately breakfast is not included.
- A crystal clear swimming pool.
- All rooms are fully serviced.
- Laundry can be provided at extra cost
There are five rooms available in the lodge, two en-suite bedrooms, two double bedrooms sharing a common bathroom and a single room upstairs also sharing the communal bathroom. All of the downstairs bedrooms have built-in cupboards and a TV. There are twin beds in each double room. A The rooms are:
· Fish Eagle
The largest room. It is en-suite and contains a spa bath. A third bed can be put in on request.
· Martial Eagle
A sligtly smaller en-suite bedroom.
· Kingfisher and Hoopoe Rooms
Two double rooms sharing one lovely bathroom.
· Masked Weaver Room
A small upstairs single bedroom
A queen bed can be substituted (24 hours) notice, if required. All of the bathrooms are spacious, each containing a bath and a large shower.
The Guinea Fowl cottage
A lovely self-catering thatch cottage, which sleeps four, but hoping to sleep six in the future. Our guests are charged irrespective as to the number of guests.
It consists of

A comfortable lounge with TV and DSTV feed from the lodge and a DVD player if you want to watch your own.
A spacious dining room.
Bathroom which conforms to our normal luxurious standards.
A fully equipped kitchen.
· Upstairs
A loft with two single beds.

Directions
Coming from Johannesburg/durban
From the N3 Highway towards Roodeport, take the William Nicole off-ramp.
Turn right at the top of the off-ramp, over the highway, towards Fourways Mall.
Take the slip road opposite Monte Casino, left into Witkoppen Road.
Once in Witkoppen, turn right at the next traffic lights into Cedar Avenue (this is the road to Lanseria Airport).
After approximately 5 kms turn left at the traffic lights after Broadacres shopping centre into 3rd Avenue..
At the 4 way stop (mind drainage dips) turn left into Runnymead Road.
300m turn right into 2nd Road.
About 1 km down the road forks to the right, keep right.
We are the first driveway on the left hand side, plot 206B.
Press the intercom for reception on plot 206 and we will come down to see you.
